| FDMHA Trustees Reflect on Passing of Dr. Walters Vivian L. Smith, VP, Frederick Douglass Memorial and Historical Association, reports that "this morning, at the Black Family Reunion, Rev. Al Sharpton announced the passing of Dr. Ronald Walters during the evening of September 10, 2010. Dr. Waters was a long standing Trustee of the Frederick Douglass Memorial & Historical Association (FDMHA). Dr. Walters served as a Trustee with FDMHA working in any capacity that we asked of him and I am sure that our President will express the sympathy of the Trustees to the family. Be blessed and keep the family in prayer."
Upon learning of Dr. Walters' demise, Donald Scoggins, fellow FDMHA Board member, reminisced "What a shock! Despite our differing political views Dr. Walters frequently offered examples how Black Republicans could make themselves more acceptable within our community. And, of course he always suggested ways representative of Frederick Douglass' great wisdom. "
This information will be expanded with additional information and photos. It will be further updated when memorial arrangements are announced
